  • Usually if I've written a book, I'll read the whole thing myself. They get the book in their mailbox with their name on it. The album stands very well on its own and, in fact, tells the story of these individuals making their way in the country music world much more clearly and effectively than the novel does. Everybody got on board, and we've really made it work for us, I think.

    The beauty of who she is and what she does is that she brings us all along on her magical journey. That always troubled me, because he was so smart and I loved him so much. Fans of the TV show Nashville will feel as if they are watching many of the same stories unfold, except at least Nashville had tension and conflict among the characters that drove the plot.
